Before you travel

Good to know.

Dublin Before & After

Stay 1-2 nights in Dublin before 12 May and after 18 May. The supplied itinerary advises against flying home on 18 May after Old Head and the 3.5-4 hour drive. Book Dublin or airport hotels independently.

On The Course

Bring your GHIN handicap card. Carry cash for caddie fees and customary tips. Pack collared shirts, tailored trousers or shorts, waterproofs and a warm layer; no denim. Expect cool, changeable links weather.

On The Road

Drive on the left. Northern Ireland road signs use miles and mph; the Republic uses kilometers and km/h. Verify Ireland rental-car coverage with your card issuer or rental company. Allow extra time on narrow roads with golf bags aboard.

Money & Essentials

Northern Ireland uses pounds sterling; the Republic uses euros. Cards are widely accepted. In May, Ireland is five hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Time. Bring Type G plug adapters; check that devices support 230 volts.

Keep the journey close.
